Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that eating manhattan is a site designed for entertainment purposes only. While this website has been set up to express our personal opinions on certain businesses and experiences within our local area, it is not meant to cause any business or person financial or personal harm and our opinion is not necessarily a reflection of the establishment / person in question.
Formed in September 2009, eating manhattan is your new restaurant resource for the local area. We’ll hook you up with reviews and news on some of the tastiest (and not so tasty) dining establishments out there. With all of NYC to play with, we should have no problem keeping our dining options open.
About our Writers:
Mark Levine, Publisher:
Mark began East of NYC, eating manhattan’s big brother, back in 2006. Initially hoping to capitalize on the lack of quality information for the local area, he started the site as a way to show all of the residents and visitors to Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island what great unique restaurants, events and shops there are on this side of the city. Mark currently serves as the editor and creative director of East of NYC and all of the “eating” sites.
Mark will fill you in on all of the great meals, new additions, closings, great deals and more. In addition to writing for East of NYC and the eating sites, Mark spent a year writing The Red Zone in Long Island Pulse Magazine. You can e-mail Mark directly by clicking here.
Holly Rayna Raub, Editor in Chief
Holly Rayna Raub is the rare breed of vegetarians that are indigenous to the Beef Capital of the World aka Texas. A New Yorker at heart she made her way to Park Slope via a 2000 mile road trip through the fast food heartland with the aid of protein bars and iced tea. She has a very particular palate honed by vegetarianism and a gluten allergy. She’s explored the underbelly of the culinary world – alternative meat, grain, and sugar sources – and has lived to tell about it although a little scarred by some bitterly scary stevia experiences. She’s never passed a health food store where she could withstand the magnetic pull and gets a little weak in the knees for carob goodies. Despite her dietary limitations she prefers to eat at “regular” restaurants and prefers white table cloths to wheat grass trays. And she is always on a mission to find fabulous haunts where she can enjoy a delicious meal alongside her carnivorous friends and family.
